Old spiceOld Spice is an American brand of male grooming products manufactured by Procter & Gamble, which acquired the brand in 1990 from the Shulton Company. During the later part of the 20th century it was discovered that nearly every household had an old glass bottle of Old Spice (the Mark of a Man) in their bathroom cupboard, which had been bought as a father's day present but never seemed to ever get used except when young boys splashed it all over their faces while no one was looking. They usually only did this once.

Sometime in the early 21st century all these bottles were finally thrown away, hence the common observation that the current century smells new.
